(The European Journal of International Law), CEDPAL (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen) researcher, Susann Aboueldahab discusses an important decision made by the Colombian Special Jurisdiction for Peace-JEP: last month, the JEP ruled that gender persecution – both gender identity and sexual orientation – should be considered a crime against the humanity of the victims, which constitutes a precedent in international criminal law.
