“Art, politics, pedagogy, and poetry overlap, integrate, and cross-pollinate into a whole—a form overcoming the agitation/construction polarity”. Camnitzer (2008)
The German group supporting the Truth Commission – Nodo Alemania – welcomes all those interested to participate in the online discussion on art and memory with five Colombian women devoted to creation and reflection on both topics.
“Lest we forget” is the title given to the event with special guests, Ana María Vallejo, Alexandra Bibiscus, Ana María Millán, Andrea Cagua and Lorena Díez.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. (Berlin), 11:00 a.m. (Bogotá), through the Nodo Alemania’s Facebook Live: https://www.facebook.com/nodoAlemaniaCEV/
Since the 1980s and 1990s, the connection between artistic practice and the construction of memories of the armed conflict in Colombia has been a recurrent issue in the field of art creation and theorisation. This space is proposed as a contribution to the discussion and problematization, from a creative perspective, of the links between conflict and art. It is also intended to identify meeting points for the guiding speakers: women, citizens and Colombian artists living abroad. The meeting has been organised by Nodo Alemania supported by CAPAZ.
