This event is part of a CAPAZ 2020 – 2021 research project entitled: “Mass violence against indigenous peoples in Cauca: between genocide and crimes against humanity” by professors Gustavo Emilio Cote Bargo and Lorena Cecilia Vega Dueñas of Universidad Javeriana, Stefanie Bock of the University of Marburg, and Aldemar Bolaños of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, CRIC.
The research project consisted of two main parts. On the one hand, a doctrinal and jurisprudential analysis of the concept of cultural genocide and, on the other hand, a qualitative empirical investigation on the effects of the Colombian armed conflict in northern Cauca, particularly on the Nasa people.
