CAPAZ and its partner universities Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad de Medellín, and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana welcome students to apply to take part in the III CAPAZ Congress of Young Researchers 2023, which will take place on Thursday, September 28 and Friday, September 29, 2023, in Medellín, Colombia.
The Congress is the perfect place for young researchers, professors, and experts on peace issues in Colombia to get together and discuss ideas. It will be an academic setting for dialogue, exchange, and discussion on crucial issues for peacebuilding in the country, including processes of truth, justice and reparation, as well as on negotiations with influential groups in the current Colombian context of the Paz Total project.
This call is addressed to students from universities in Medellín and from CAPAZ member universities, who are currently in their last semesters of undergraduate studies and who belong to research groups, and master’s or doctoral students in different disciplines, who can present a research work in progress (thesis or research group project), according to the following thematic lines of the five working groups defined for the congress:
- Memory and truth
- Territorial reconfigurations of violence and HR in post-agreement territories
- Reincorporation processes
- Integral system and restorative justice
- Education and communication for peace

– Opening of the call for applications: Friday, July 14, 2023.
– Closing date for applications: Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 23:59 Colombian time.
– Announcement of selected students: from August 31, 2023, through the CAPAZ website and social networks.
